“Kirkland is where my heart is and I want to be part of shaping its future—one where growth is smart, services are strong, and every voice is heard.”

ABOUT GINA

Gina Madeya is a proud Kirkland resident, community advocate, and dedicated public servant with a deep passion for making Kirkland an inclusive, thriving city for all. Since moving here with her family in 2012, Gina has been actively involved in shaping the city’s future through meaningful civic engagement, leadership roles, and hands-on advocacy. Kirkland is where her heart is. Both of her kids went to Lake Washington High School and her wife owns a massage practice in downtown Kirkland.

As a current Planning Commissioner for the City of Kirkland, Gina brings valuable insight into how policy, development, and community needs intersect. Her leadership extends beyond the local level—she serves on the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and as a Federal Political Coordinator to Senator Maria Cantwell, where she champions property rights and housing affordability on behalf of Washingtonians.

Locally, Gina serves on the Board of Directors for Alpha Supported Living Services, which supports individuals with developmental disabilities across King, Snohomish, and Spokane counties. Her volunteerism reflects a deep commitment to equity, opportunity, and dignity for all residents. As someone who grew up with a sister who is developmentally disabled, this cause is near and dear to her heart and she is proud to be part of an organization that provides needed services for these special people that enable them to live a more comfortable and fulfilled life.

A proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and member of the LGBTQ Real Estate Alliance, Gina advocates for better representation and access to homeownership for marginalized communities and is committed to ensuring that Kirkland remains a welcoming and supportive place for people of all backgrounds. Her advocacy is shaped by her belief that true leadership involves listening, learning, and lifting up every voice in the community.

Raised by a successful entrepreneurial father and real estate broker mother, Gina Madeya’s passion for real estate began as a child watching her mother help clients and assisting her with creating marketing flyers and other small tasks. Her grandparents were very active in the purchase and sale of properties that now make up much of modern-day Atlantic City and she remains inspired by the since yellowed newspaper clippings documenting their many achievements. After 25 years in corporate leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and Microsoft, Gina transitioned into real estate to continue her family’s legacy—this time with a strong focus on client education and advocacy.

While Gina’s career path is impressive, her heart is rooted in service and her love for the Kirkland community. From celebrating local progress in areas like Totem Lake and Kirkland Urban to advocating for smart, inclusive growth, she is committed to helping Kirkland continue to thrive—now and for future generations. When not serving her community or selling real estate, Gina and her wife enjoy frequenting local restaurants and shops, walking their dog on the Cross Kirkland Corridor or reading a book at any of our beautiful waterfront parks.
